Whats wrong with my puppy?
I found a puppy back in the early days of October (we estimate him to be over 8 weeks of age) and I have been treating him for sarcoptic mange and he has been doing well. But yesterday I noticed his back end (hips and back legs) seem rather small and he walks awkwardly and his tummy is bloated sometimes. Do you know what could be wrong with him? PLEASE note that he HAS been wormed, this was what I suspected at first and I also did research on a condition called Bloat but it doesn’t really say anything about the back end being small. I’m going to feed him less and give him time to digest his food before play but does anyone have any suggestions/ ideas for home treatment or what could be causing it?
What I meant by (he has been wormed) is that he is wormless I’ve treated him and given him is puppy worming meds already hes up-to-date. And sadly I cannot take him to the vet (you wanna pull $200 bucks out your ass for me to take him I’ll gladly take it) but my cousin is a VET and she will be checking on him I just wanted to see if anyone els has had simaller expereances.
Nobody here can see through the monitor so a diagnoses is not possible. Even if someone offers suggestions, they could be wrong and following any advice here for your dog’s problems could make things worse. The best place to get answers about your dog’s problems are from your vet.
It really sounds like the dog is in need of vet’s attention, please take him asap.

Take him to a vet.

Did you worm him or did you take him to a vet… sounds like he really needs to go…sure don’t think it’s bloat in an 8wk old puppy

This puppy could be deformed, but there’s no way of knowing from a short description. But he does need a vet – sounds like he’s got way too many problems. There are no home treatments – you don’t even know what’s wrong with him.

Could be anything. But a puppy in that condition should be fed a high quality diet. I would also be giving him a dog vitamin daily.

Ahhhh, don’t you think it might be time to take the dog to the vet to get him examined and treated by a professional instead of trying to home treat him? There could be something seriously wrong and while you are trying to figure out what it could be, you could be having it treated. Take the dog to the vet.

First off, take him to a vet and have the vet check your got out for any problems.
Secondly, has your dog been eating much of any thing. If not, try giving him some of the food that your family is eating for breakfast and dinner. If you do give him some of the same food that you are eating, make sure the food doesn’t contain onions or garlic since both are poisonous to dogs.
Check out the site listed below to see what other foods that humans eat that are poisonous to dogs so you know what not to feed to him.

You say you’ve treated him for worms…Did you treat him one time ?
The thing is…Worms are hardy…discustingly hardy..
Twice a year your dog should be treated for worms…Not just once…There are 5 major worms that every dog probably has…Of those five, 3 will be cured with just one worming..
The other two are tough…You get the adult worms with the initial worming, but the young will live on and thrive…
Please worm your dog again…Worm him every day for three days in a row…No worm can handle 3 days in a row…
There is one worm that is resistant to your common over the counter remedy…The tape worm..Doggers get them if they’ve had a few fleas and no common wormer is going to kill it…
The only wormer that will work here (please don’t listen to anyone that tells you that you have to go to the vet for this, pay attention), is a wormer that contains "Fenbendazole"…Over the counter you can’t really get it unless it’s a paste in horse wormer form…A vet taught me years ago that this wormer is the ONLY wormer that is effective in young pups and completely safe for even a pregnant momma…It’s worked for me for over a decade…
So please go to your farm store and purchase Fenbendazole (safe-guard paste named for horses), look at the instructions and figure out the right dosage per pound…It’s totally safe and it’s almost impossible to overdose…This will take care of every single internal parasite (excluding heartworms) very safely but you need to give it every day, once a day, for 3 days in a row….Twice a year and dogger won’t have worms..
