Treatment for sarcoptic mange?
What’s the best treatment I can do at home for sarcoptic mange? I was given promethrin by a good friend who owns a ranch. She uses it on her dogs and livestock (different dilutions depending on the animal).
Does it really work? Is there something else?
As long as your dog is not a collie, you be much better off with an ivermectin treatment. Why not order Revolution on line (one dose will cure your dog). I suspect the Promethrin will nothing against mange. Good luck.

I’m not really familiar with specific mange treatments, but I do know every book I’ve read on sarcoptic mange says that it requires vet treatment. Mange can be incredibly painful for your animals and needs immediate treatment.
I’m all about doing my own vet work (we have a farm and we kind of have to), but some things you just shouldn’t mess with. Call a vet and get the proper treatment.

How curious, it looks like a fox with a severe case of sarcoptic mange, a burrowing mite that causes loss of hair and skin , so sad, this is a miserable disease and highly contagious and will eventually cause death.
