My dog has been diagnosed as having sarcoptic mange.?
On the vet’s advice I am washing all her bedding and mine at 60 degrees where feasible and immersing the rest in Milton before washing. However my duvet is too large for my machine. If I have it dry cleaned will this be sufficient to sterilise it? I understand the the mite rarely affects humans but I don’t want to reinfect the dog who, when she’s well again, will want to sleep on my bed as she always has done.
i have just set up a pet site & with that have been creating files on dogs health problems etc, last night i did one on sacrcoptic mange, and it can cause scabies in humans, i would recommend a new duvet cover, for yourself, continue to wash dogs bedding regularly & always wash hands after stroking or petting, as well as the clothes you have been wearing that day, hope your dog is better soon.

I would really try to stop your dog sleeping on your bed. mange is pretty bad but they often have fleas and their faecal/urinal particles will be in your bedding too.
When we had dogs and bought new white leather sofas we stopped our dogs, who had always jumped up on to our old furniture. We simply hit the furniture with a stick every time the dogs jumped up or attempted to jump up. We never hit the dogs but the noise of the stick hitting the furniture was enough to avert their attention and make them reconsider their actions!
A nice squidgy bean bag or something similar by the side or foot of your bed would do just as nicely and it would be an awful lot more hygenic!
best of luck!
and I think dry-cleaning will do the trick by the way!

Hey there! Dog trainer here, not a vet, but I would ask the vet if you could use some type of spray on the cover first, then get it dry cleaned. You could always try to take it to a commercial self wash clothing place. They may have bigger washers. Hope this helped a bit!

I would think so if you advise the dry cleaners a hot wash is needed. I would personnally if unsure, discard it and buy another that way there will be no doubt. Glad she’s well, my last dog had that and it was not pleasant

not sure about your duvet but if you use stronghold for fleas, ticks, worms it protects against sarcoptic mange as well

Hi, I am very interested in this supplement for my many health problems since my friend raved about it. My question is what kind of vinegar has to be taken with it? Are there other lower acid foods one can take to activate it? One on my health problems is Interstitial Cystitis which is a bladder disease and certain foods are very, very painful to consume including lemon juice and many vinegars. The vinegars I tolerate are lower acid ones like brown rice vinegar. I do know the whole pH theory, but my bladder just flares with certain foods, so my choices are from experience rather than theory.

Paleoliths ate whole grains:
Ancient Grains Show Paleolithic Diet Was More Than Meat
The health problem with bagels and bialys isn't the grains, its that it isn't whole grains. Big stomachs positively correlate with eating processed grains, but there is no such positive correlation with whole grains.
