what are the best products, brands for getting rid of sarcoptic mange on animals?
i know cats cant take permethrin and collies cant take pesticides very well…besides these percautions- what do i use to erradicate these little pests which cause big problems?

Not sure how’d you keep your collie from injesting any of it, but guess you could try one of those cone collars.
They also call it “sarcoptic mange”, “Spanish Itch”, “sweet itch”, lice etc.
Well if you’re willing to try anything, here’s a decades old remedy for it… Motor oil (New or used). Simply paint your horse/pony with it and it will kill the fungus/bugs. Leave it on at least a month and within 2 weeks of painting it on, you’ll see new hair growing in hairless spots. What happens is, that it coats their little bug bodies and because bugs breathe through their skin, suffocates them…
I should state that you SHOULD either WASH your horse/pony with dawn or something else that will take the oil off IF you HAVE to ride before you put any tack on it. IF you don’t you WILL stain your tack and boots (I actually heard somebody did ride with it on their horse and it stained all their tack and their black boots turned brown)… Thought that would be a no brainer.
My puppy has the sarcoptic mange?
He slept with me since I got him 10 days ago, I am itching , I know humans can pick up mange from dogs and it is called scabies. Is there a natural way to treat myself without using the potent scabies medicine from docotor?
My puppy has meds from the doctor so hopefully in 7 days I will se an improvement. As for myself well I have only been scratching for a couple of days, at first I thought it was mental , just thinking about mites in my skin… YUCK!!
Been there myself. I don’t know anything that will work except somthing that kills bugs. I had it so bad at my house that I had to spray everything with a bug killer. It was terrible.
I have heard that putting something like Vaseline on the skin will suffocate them but I don’t know.
My dog has Sarcoptic Mange?
I have taken my dog to the vet numerous times and he keeps prescribing me liquid medicane for two days and then pill form for two weeks and nothing has worked. I have spent so much money on this I just want to find a cure for her. PLEASE HELP! If you are going to tell me to take her to the vet trust me I already have!
Thank you very much for the great advice. I heard about that dip before but you have to be prescribed that. I am taking her to a different vet this Saturday.
My dog Face, had the same thing and there’s a dip called “Mitaban” that works really well. Its like 30 bucks and I used to get her dipped everytime I noticed it flaring up, ( about 3 times) and it seems to have killed it. At first I had her on the liquid and pills and I got the same results as you…none. Hope this helps, I know how you feel : )
